CURC Executive Director Shannon Angielski Addresses CCUS Roadshow Event

Today, CURC Executive Director Shannon Angielski spoke at the Carbon Capture Utilization and Sequestration Roadshow, an event co-hosted in Washington, D.C. by the United States Energy Association (USEA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).  The event is the first in a six-part event series hosted by USEA and DOE, with future events being held in New Orleans, LA, Houston, TX, Sacramento, CA, Chicago, IL, and New York, NY.

Ms. Angielski moderated a panel session during the event entitled "Technology Today and Over the Horizon."  The following speakers participated on the panel:

  • Dr. Brian Anderson, Director, National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL)
  • Angelos Kokkinos, Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary, Clean Coal and Carbon Management, DOE Office of Fossil Energy
  • Ron Munson, Principal and Founder, Cogentiv Solutions 

The panel provided an overview of technologies currently being advanced by the public and private sectors, focusing on progress made in CO2 capture, storage, and utilization.  Panelists also discussed the future of research programs at NETL and DOE, the value of public-private partnerships in advancing technology, and potential new products and applications for capturing and utilizing carbon dioxide.
